RLH's Knob Render v.3 PRO

Basicly Knob Render is a automation script making it easy to make those non-destructive animations of rotary knobs directly from inside Photoshop. Design your knob with shading & texturing, and let Knob Render create a sequence of your knob rotating. If needed you can also you finish off by stitching your images together in one stacked image without having to load up an external application.

Very realistic 3D looking results can be achieved in Photoshop when using this method.

So what's so special about Knob Render? —————————————————————————————

Knob Render does nothing you haven't allways been able to do manually (in theory!). But it sure does make the process a lot easier, faster and more precise. Some of the advantages are:

Non-destructive

One of the things that makes this kind of batch processing difficult, is the fact that by continuely rotating the same picture the quality gradually decreases. The result would be blurry and pixelated images. This is not the case with this application. Knob Render is nondestructive, because it always returns to the original image to perform the increasing rotation.

Rendering ! ...not just rotating

While Knob Render is useful for just rotating an image and outputting the frames, the real power is it's usage of Photoshop's truly great 3D shading in the layer styles. Those styles, containing beveling, texturing, lighting and shadows, are dynamicly rendered on each progressing frame of the rotation, making the animation much more conviencing as opposed to just rotating a pre-rendered image.

This makes it possible for people not familiar with advanced 3D applications to achieve great 3D-looking results.

Also worth mentioning is that the PRO-version ships with Knob Designer; a set of actions, styles, textures and custom shapes for Photoshop aiding in the actual design of the knob.
